For Professionals:
I'm often asked by aspiring pros for advice on anything from camera choice to flash use to post-production methods. I'm happy to share and am an active member of many online forums and a moderator at the awesome NoBS Photosuccess forum. NoBS is the best online source of great (and bull@*&% free) info around. Check them out.
My camera bag:
I use exclusively Canon gear - 5D and 5D MK II bodies. My favorite lens in the whole World is the 50mm. It's truely as the eye sees, and over 70% of all my images are created with it.
In my studio, I use a mix of Dynaline and Alien Bee flash units, and on location I use the bullet proof Vivitar 285's, which have been modified by me to withstand any abuse. I sell these units to fellow pros - check out the store!
For post production, I've always been a Mac fan - but that's only really because I came into the digital World 20 years ago, just as Adobe and Apple were starting their assault. At that time, PC's simply didn't run Photoshop. These days, they are all pretty close, but I do love my Macs! My studio runs with a Mac Pro for all post-production, with Adobe CS4 as my main editing tools. I also use Lightroom, mainly for weddings.
Pindora:
In 2008 I teamed up with the amazing Mama Shan, to create a set of tools aimed at pin-up photographers and the result is Pindora, released in November 2009. This has been a giant success, and based on feedback from our happy clients we are exploring ways to make it even more useful for our clients.
Training:
Sharing my skills with fellow photographers is important to me, to help lift our profession and keep the art of photography alive. With so many people picking up a camera and announcing that they are a 'photographer' we need to make sure that the skill levels are high. I offer several types of workshop, both in class format or one-on-one training. See my training page for more details, or the store to book a training session now!
