Wedding photography is hard work on a mild day…today it was hawwwwt! Luckily, I seem to have been gifted a fantastic bunch of clients this year, and today’s couple, Jenica and Bart, continued my fantastic run of wonderful, happy and romantic weddings this summer. Eagle eyed readers will recognise these two from their engagement session earlier in the year. Like many of my couples, they are naturals for the camera, willing to play and have fun, and I had an amazing time being part of their wedding. Here are a couple of faves as they crossed my screen tonight - more soon! Best of luck to Mr and Mrs Bishop!!

As regular readers will know - this year I’m shooting 15 weddings for the great Powers Oregon Company here in Portland. Craig and I have often discussed which direction to take Times Two Studios and I’ve finally convinced him that weddings are where we should be going! So - for 2009, something new for Portland. Something exciting. Something AWESOME. More details to come, but we are going to be offering a new take on wedding photography bringing the combined photographic and retouching skills of Craig and myself together in one package. If you are getting married in 2009 and want details get in touch! More info coming soon….
Darla and Todd - the highlights!
Sunshine and Grady’s big day…to music….awesome!
We are very close to releasing the final images for Cherry’s calendar…here is the cover! Stay tuned for the photos and information about how to order…

A little under a year ago we took Henry to the beach for the first time - he was a baby then…he’s a little boy now!! We stayed in Lincoln City and had some fun on the lovely sandy beach, which was freeeeeeeezing! Damn Oregon weather!
Here’s Henry being awesome:

Meet the lovely London Andrews. London has spent the last 2 years travelling around America modelling as she goes, and working with photographers she seeks out in every city. I had thought about contacting her to see about shooting when she hit Portland, but since she gets a load of paid work didn’t think she’d be interested in a TFP (Time For Photos) shoot with me. And then she emailed me!! Turns out that she was as much a fan of my work as I was of hers…so we set up a shoot. We had a ton of fun, she’s a true professional! Find out more about here travels here: London Andrews: travelling modelMany of the images may be a bit too hot for this blog, and are destined for my Intimates portfolio which will be launching later in the year. Here are a couple of quick ones for now:

Ashleigh and Liam….a bridal fashion shoot. Why? Fun that’s why!!I’ve worked with both of these guys before and have been wanting to do some edgy fashion based bridal shots for a while in an urban environment, so since they are both awesome looking thought I’d put them together and have some fun. Now…as a professional, I’m not going to divulge the comedy of errors that transpired before we actually got the shoot off the ground (all MY errors..these two were great!) but let’s just say that by the time we actually got some frames off, I was in stress city! We all relaxed and got into it, and the setting couldn’t have been better. More to come as I get to work them, here’s one to show how great they look.
A few weeks after part 1 - but I’ve been busy!! Here is the lovely Catriona rocking a bridal fashion shoot. I even got her to sit right on the train tracks…

Well into the swing of wedding season now! Here are a few more from Ceanna and Greg’s wedding a few weeks ago at the Portland Yacht Club for Powers Oregon.

Today I had the very great pleasure of capturing Darla and Todd as they tied the knot at the Persimmon Country Club. The day was full of emotion, the couple both looked awesome, the bridal party were quite possibly the most fun crowd I’ve ever had the chance to play with!! I had a truly great time, and it was one of those days when you just love being a wedding photographer and being a part of such occasions. Thanks to all for being good sports and hamming it up for my camera!! This was another of my weddings this year for the Powers Oregon company here in Portland. Here are my first favs as they came down off the cards tonight - more soon….
The spectacular Darla….

Super cool Todd…

Steady aim Darla…!

One of my favorite images…ever…

Mr And Mrs Marshall…

Had a great model session at the studio tonight with the vivacious Christine…This was her first lingerie shoot but she worked it like a star. This shot was at the end of the shoot, and was her idea…she doesn’t smoke!! Looks spectacular, doesn’t she!?

Kim and Adam - wow…what a session!! With the rain fast approaching, these two rocked the hell out of this, and we had a ton of fun. Both naturals for the camera they relaxed and enjoyed it. Kim could easily be a model…seriously Kim…wanna do some modelling?!!?Way too many favorites to pick just a few…so here are many!!! On a side note - I’ve been trying some new processing on these…I miss the look of film, and have messed around with some techniques that move toward that.

Out and about on Sunday at the Kennedy School soaking pool with my son, Henry, we spotted his favorite car in the parking lot…a Mini. NO…not that rubbish that BMW pretend is a Mini…but a REAL one!! It still had UK plates underneath the Oregon ones, and it was right hand drive to boot! Here’s Henry exploring…

Regular readers will know that I’ve been working with the wonderful Ms Cherry Dollface on her 2009 calendar…to say we are both excited about how it’s turning out is a huge understatement! We can’t wait for it to hit the presses, and wanted to give everyone a sneak peak. Here then, is October!! All the shots are inspired by classic 50’s pin-up artwork. We sweated and bled to get as close to the original paintings and drawings as possible, then put our own spin on it. This shot is the result of a couple of hours of painful studio work for Cherry (having bolts drilled into your hands and springs welded to your knees isn’t nice ya know!!) and around 15 hours retouching on my part. This isn’t the final image, but it’s close. More images in the coming weeks, and hopefully a finished calendar for you to buy soon after that. Enjoy!

No photography today - busy retouching my last wedding and Cherry’s calendar. Here are some of the songs currently rocking my playlist:Bon Jovi “Dirty Little Secret” - on hellova sexy song (no iTunes link)
Mötley Crüe “Saint’s Of Los Angeles” - anticipation for the new album is at boiling point…
Elvis Presley “Viva Las Vegas” - I miss Vegas…must get back there soon…
And - bizarrely - Def Leppard’s latest…”Songs From The Sparkle Lounge”. My buddy Steve told me to get it, crank it, and rock out. He was not wrong. I’m not a huge Leppard fan, but this takes me all the way back to the 80s. Required listening for anyone who still dreams of ripped jeans and long hair.
Another from my recent session with Cherry…
Sad…yet beautiful.

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting Sunshine and Grady’s wedding. Helping on the day was Bo Baumgartner. Great fun to work with, Bo shot some awesome images for the happy couple. He’s available for weddings to, take a look at his site!!
It’s always fun to see images of myself shooting - cringeworthy, but fun - here are a couple of me getting right in the way of Bo’s camera!! (Thanks Bo!)
I like to get close to my subjects!

Yup - that’s me…right in the middle of Bo’s shot!

And here’s me looking all action man!
