Anyone who has their reception in a brewery is Royalty as far as I’m concerned - so Matt and Allison and I were always going to get along just fine!! Their wedding was in Lake Oswego before we all scampered up to the Bridgeport Brewery for some fun and games! This was one of my many weddings this summer shooting for the great Powers Studios, in Portland.

Natalie and Patrick, an awesome couple, and a wonderful wedding. This was another of my summer weddings for the great Powers Oregon company.
Enjoy!

I’ve been chained to my awful Sprint phone now for two years. Seemed like a great idea at the time. But a shiny new iPhone will be mine soon. Oh yes. And it seems that maybe it was right to wait. The new iPhone announced yesterday, the 3Gs, is as close to photographer heaven as you can get.
Commercial photographer, Chase Jarvis, sums it up very well - the best camera is the one that you have with you. This new iPhone, with a 3 megapixel, auto focus camera will be in my pocket ALL THE TIME. I cannot begin to express how excited I am at that prospect. Also, this fancy little app: GPSMapCard allows you to stamp maps onto photos. Great for scouting locations for later ‘proper’ shoots.
Did I mention that I’m excited….
Soon. Soon……come on Sprint contract…end damit….
A photographer’s life is a great one. I love it. There are times though, when it can be frustrating. One of these times is when people assume that you can instantly drop your prices. Or they wonder why they are so ‘high’. In reality, professional photography is neither high, or over priced. Not if you compare apples to apples.
If you compare a professional, boutique photographer with a Sear’s type photographer, then you comparing McDonald’s with a fancy steak restaurant. Both serve food, but…well, you understand!
Recently, this video came to light on YouTube that perfectly sums up the frustration that photographer’s often feel…
Kelly and Jeremy said “I do” in a classy and romantic wedding - and I was there to capture the moment for them! Here are a few of my favorites from the big day. As with many of my weddings this year, I shot this for Powers Studios.

Meet Christina and Dan - getting married in the summer! We had a wander around one of my favorite e-session locations, SE Portland near OMSI. Don’t they look great!?

Like a doctor who smokes, or a mechanic with the biggest pile or crap car…photographers are awful at keeping photographic records of their own familes. So, this year I vow to take many more portraits of my little boy…here are some from last night:

Rachel and Erik - a lovely couple, a fantastic wedding, and our first wedding of the year!

I’ll be shooting Natalie and Patrick’s wedding later in the summer for Powers Studios - here is there cool engagement session!
